What are general scholarships? General scholarships refer to scholarships offered through organizations and businesses outside of the school or institution of choice. Below are a variety of scholarships that you may eligible to apply for. This is not an exhaustive list, and you can find more scholarships by searching various scholarship sites. American Legion: The American Legion Auxiliary Department of Michigan offers scholarships for descendants of veterans. HERE
Amazon Future Engineer Scholarships : Students interested in computer science, engineering and robotics can apply for a $40,000 scholarship and a paid internship. HERE

Better Business Bureau (BBB) Serving Western Michigan : BBB Trust Scholarship honors young leaders who demonstrate Trust and Ethics in their daily lives as they work to make a difference in their school and community. HERE

Discover Manufacturing: Scholarships available for graduating high school seniors, pursuing a degree in manufacturing related programs. Must be a resident of Kent, Ottawa, Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Montcalm, or Muskegon county. HERE
Economic Club of Grand Rapids: An annual essay contest with scholarships awarded between $500 - $3,000. HERE
Elks National Foundation Legacy Award: Scholarships for children and grandchildren of dues-paying Elk members. HERE
